WRITING
 | What did you first read? How did you begin to write? Who were the first to read what you wrote? I was informed by my parents that I have been attempting to read around the same time I started walking. I recall many family jokes about me pretending to read books and creating all sorts of characters and being able to play alone for an hour. OF coarse I read the Dick and Jane books first just like everyone else I assume...
I began writing at an early age as well. Initially I created lyrics for songs. We will skip over the first song I wrote at age three. But I will tell you that as a teenager and beyond I've written many love songs. Several years ago, I even wrote a few spiritual songs and Country songs. I began writing novels in 2005 as a result of a personal crisis. I was so hurt by the encounter that I sat at my computer and created a story that served as a self healer for me. I literally sat there and laughed and cried my way back to sanity. I was a Social Worker and had been unfairly discharged from a job I truly loved. Afterward, I read the unpublished novel and determine that I indeed had a great imagination and I wanted to share my gift as a healing tool for others. The name of that novel is “Make Me Feel Good,” and I have not published it yet, but one day I plan to share this novel because though written in fiction it is a story that many can relate to. My writing style is unique in that I present fiction stories that have strong social messages and yet, they are enjoyable. My goal in writing is to touch the hearts of many as I desired to do with my love songs.
The first person that read my story was a group of family members I suppose. I was so excited to discover God's gift to me that I'd shove ten pages in front of co-workers and everyone. The feedback I received from those initial readers led me to accept that I truly had stories. I've never shopped any of my lyrics and I decided I would not allow my manuscripts to suffer the same fate. Besides characters are much pushier than musical notes (smile). So, I now have two published novels entitled: The Cradle Robber and There's One Nut in Every Family. I have many other unpublished novels that I look forward to sharing. www.makemefeelgoodproductions.org. |
MUSIC
 | What do you do? What is your musical specialty? I am a published author of two fiction novels entitled: The Cradle Robber and There's One Nut in Every Family. I am also a Lyricist and a Poet. I am currently working with a musician so that the music to my lyrics' and melody can be completed. I've decided that with the time I have left on Earth, I want to share my gifts. I pray each day that someone is touched by my words and in many cases moved to accomplish great things or to reach out and help their neighbor. Thank you for this opportunity to again reach out. | Have you ever awoken with a melody created from your dreams? This is beginning to sound like the story of my life. Often I awake from my sleep because of tunes playing in my head. I have slept while full orchestras' were performing. When I opened my eyes I would immediately reach by the side of my bed and write out those words. Most often that is how my songs were developed. My job was to record and enjoy the blessings... God is good all the time... |
