Interview with:

Lauren Proctor [laurenproctor]

MARKETING
Up till now, what has been your professional career path?
In college I wanted to be a magazine editor, but as soon as I saw the rise of online communities I was immediately drawn to digital marketing. I applied to NYU for graduate school, packed up and moved, and then started designing a social media marketing curriculum before universities had formal classes on the implications of social.
Please list web addresses where one can see something about you.
You can find me at: - LaurenProctor32.com - ProctorHall.com - Twitter.com/LaurenProctor32 - Facebook.com/ProctorHall And periodically, elsewhere.
Are you part of any professional networking sites? Has it served its purpose for you?
I've experimented with a few sites here and there, from LuxurySociety to tech groups and so forth. All of these sites / communities have their strengths, but in my experience so far nothing beats the lead generation power and networking opportunities that arise out of the mainstream social media sites.
How do you do your own personal branding? What do you recommend other professionals do to position themselves in the job market?
You'd think a marketer's personal brand would be dynamite, but so far in life I've found I spend so much time growing my client's brands and businesses that I hardly have time to market myself. This is something I need to remedy, but for now my personal branding mostly consists of posting the things I find interesting on the internet.
