WRITING
What did you first read? How did you begin to write? Who were the first to read what you wrote?
I got my first library card when I was four and never stopped reading since then! It opened a whole new world to me where I could escape from every day life and let my imagination soar. Thus, I began to write when I became very ill with kidney failure. It was my escape from the horribleness I was going through. My husband was the first to read the beginnings of my novel. He providede all the support and encouragement that I needed to continue!
What is your favorite genre? Can you provide a link to a site where we can read some of your work or learn something about it?
My favorite genre has been and always will be Romance. I base the hero in my stories on my husband and the relationship I have with him. My book, "A PRESCRIPTION FOR LOVE", can be viewed, and excerpts from it can be read at:
http//www.lmstephenson.com.
What is your creative process like? What happens before sitting down to write?
The story begins to formulate in my mind, but as I begin to write, it takes on a life of it's own, and I,m never sure how it will end up!
What do you think are the basic ingredients of a story?
Love, passion, desire and of course conflict that keeps the love from occurring at first.
What voice do you find most to your liking: first person or third person?
I like third person, both the hero and heroine's point of view. It allows the reader to sit back and enjoy the ride!
What is required for a character to be believable? How do you create yours?
A in depth description of each character must be part of the story telling with verbalizations and actions that depict the specific characterizations of each individual.
Deep down inside, who do you write for?
I write to take my readers into a world where they can let their romantic fantasies soar.
Is writing a form of personal therapy? Are internal conflicts a creative force?
Yes, it allows me to escape from my health problems and explore a world where love abounds.
What sites do you frequent on-line to share experiences or information?
I have many yahoo grous that involve authors and readers, where I recieve much feedback and ecouragement.
What are you working on now?
I am currently working on a sequel to, "A PRESCRIPTION FOR LOVE". My fans have been pummeling me with requests for this!!
