IDEAS
Do you believe many illnesses can be caused by the mind? Yes
Do you believe it is true that humans only use 10% of their brain capacity? Yes, and for many, much less!
Does brand name influence your buying habits? Only if I am sure it means better quality. I won't wear clothing because it has a specific label on it.
Do you think tipping is a good custom? Yes! Tips are financial motivation for people to do a good job.
Are there too many holidays in the work calendar? No
Do you think the catastrophism about climate change has been exaggerated? No, but I don't know if people truly understand the time-line.
Do you boycott brands if you learn they employ children in third-world countries or harm the environment? Absolutely.
Do you defend animal experimentation for the development of medicine that can save human lives? No
What is your opinion of the rise in popularity of plastic surgery and implants? It has gone too far. People are doing too much and becoming grotesque.
Do extraterrestrials exist? Isn't it a bit pompous for humans to believe they are the ONLY inhabitants of a Universe that they do not know much about? Just because you haven't seen them does not mean they do not exist. Many creatures on Earth exist despite the fact that I have not seen them or heard of them...
CULTURE
What do you currently have in your MP3 player? Mozart to Metallica
What books are you currently reading? E-books
What do you use: Mac or PC and why? PC - for compatibility.
Do you find the saturation of advertising in the media excessive? Yes, especially on cable TV. I understand that the major networks who provide programming over the airwaves (free) need subsidizing, but we PAY for our cable channels, and should not be subjected to mostly PAID PROGRAMMING on channels we pay EXTRA for!
What were your favourite subjects when you were in primary/secondary school? Music, Typing, Computers
| Do you think video games, chat rooms, etc. have a dangerous addictive
effect on teenagers? Yes |
Do you defend urban graffiti? Yes. IF it brings something beautiful to an otherwise bland or ugly place. NOT on our street signs or when used for gang territory markings.
| Piracy continues to grow: What will happen to the music and film
industries and culture in general? Those industries will always find ways to make their money. They will not wither and die. |
How do you kill time? Taking Care of Business in our household.
| In which city do you live? What are your favourite and least favourite things about it? LIKE: It's a small beach community.
DISLIKE: how muggy & buggy it is! |
POLITICS
How do you define your political position? What is the ideology that inspires it? With an open mind ...
What matters more in deciding your vote: the party, the candidate, or the ideas? The candidate and his/her ideas. The party is not important. Divided we fall!
Do you think religion has a place in politics? It's hand in hand whether we like it or not.
Are Right and Left obsolete concepts? They definitely should be!
Why does hunger continue to exist in the world? Is this the result of a deliberate policy? Because those who have excess are not willing to give up any part of that excess to help people who are starving. I believe those with excess deliberately choose NOT to help those who are truly in need.
Do you believe in any of the conspiracy theories regarding 9-11? I believe that thousands of people die daily of diseases. We don't cease to function because of that. We should not cease to function for 9-11.
Are there too many taxes? Depends on what bracket you're in. People with money have excellent loopholes. (ie: yachts registered in foreign countries to avoid US taxes) and can hire excellent accountants to make sure they make use of those loopholes.
Do you believe in affirmative action? I believe it is being used incorrectly at this point in time. If people are to be hired on their merits only (race, gender, etc. not being a factor), those indicators should not be any part of a person's application.
Should a maximum limit of permissible personal fortune exist; and thereby, place limits on individual wealth? It will never happen.
Are you in favor of or against the death penalty? In favor of. If someone is not ever to be out in society because they are horrible, we should not have to waste tax payer money to keep them alive.
