| For how long have you done photography? How did you begin? I've been taking photos for as long as I can recall. I think I really started wondering and taking an active interest when I was about 9 years old and got my first Kodak 126 film size camera! Then from there I graduated to a Nikon FE4 back in 1985 and have been completely hooked ever since! I attended a vocational school with a photography department. I loved it immensely and have strived to learn more throughout the years!
I am 40 now and have probably taken, quite literally 250,000 to 300,000 photos! Especially with the dawning of digital!! |
| What has been your education as a photographer? Vocational Technical school. Seminars and extensive reading. |
| Please list any awards for your work. I have not entered a large number of contests but I have had my photos chosen for a travel website as well as a travel guide. |
| What is your favourite type of photography? Nature photography is my first love, however, I truly enjoy taking candid portrait shots of people. I have been enjoying my time as a wedding photographer over the last few years and my following has taken off. |
| How do you choose your subjects? When choosing my subjects I set out with a particular area in mind. We have a great deal of state parks in the area and tend to take solo visits to them for my "photoshoots". I like to capture the beauty of the world that we all too often take for granted. I love things close up so you can see the detail, the colors, the textures and the reality of it all. |
