Ho scritto tutti i testi di questo primo album in uscita a Dicembre (Icon Records France). Per le musiche sono stato molto fortunato di poter lavorare con delle persone bravissime: Chris Alyan (produttore francese), Alessandro J. Caligiuri (DJ Argentino noto per vari remix di Madonna), Daniel Costa Da Silva (dal brasile), Ayham Dalal (che ha co-prodotto il primo singolo del album, "Avance"), Joao De Lima, il quale ha remixato vari titoli del album e dal produttore Benjamin "Shapiro" Dufrene, il quale ha prodotto anche tanti buoni remix.
Riguardo l'immagine, anche li sono stato molto fortunato: il mio amico e grafico Marco Contini (Paola&Chiara, Irene Grandi, Max Pezzali...) gestisce il design del progetto e le foto sono state realizzate da Mauro Balletti (Mina...).

I wrote all the lyrics of this forthcoming album (Release date: December / Icon Records France). I had the chance and the privilege to work with many talented persons as Chris Alyan (french producer), Alessandro J. Caligiuri (DJ from Argentina, he also remixed Madonna), Daniel Costa Da Silva (from Brasil), Ayham Dalal (that co-produced the first single of this album, "Avance"), Joao De Lima, that remixed lots of the songs and Benjamin "Shapiro" Dufrene, who also produced many great remixes and a track on the LP.
I also was very lucky concerning the design of this project. My friend and talented graphic designer Marco Contini (Paola&Chiara, Irene Grandi, Max Pezzali...) manages all the designs and the photographs were shot by Mauro Balletti, a lifetime-collaborator of the italian legend Mina. |

E ancora troppo presto per me! Pero ammetto di non essere troppo in quest'ottica.
Anni fa, nel 2008, ho lavorato anche con due bravissime artiste italiane, Paola&Chiara. In quel periodo ancora non cantavo ed ero molto felice di poter partecipare ad un progetto come quello loro.

| Come hai iniziato a fare musica? Chi ti ha introdotto? HOW DID ALL THIS START FOR YOU? WHO INTRODUCED YOU IN THE MUSIC BUSINESS?
E tutto arrivato quasi a caso se posso dire. L'esperienza con Paola&Chiara mi ha ovviamente fatto incontrare un po di gente, ma sono stati più che altro i consigli degli amici che mi portarono a provare qualcosa a Parigi. A l'epoca, con un amico avevamo fatto 3 demo, con i quali giravo per le case discografiche. Uno di questi demo è arrivato nelle mani del mio attuale manager, Alexander Von Perl, al quale sono piaciute. Pochi giorni dopo sono stato chiamato dalla Icon Records France per una proposta di contratto.

I just have the feeling everything happened so quickly! The Paola&Chiara experience obviously made me meet few people, but it was chiefly my friends' advices that made me move to Paris in order to get in touch with some music labels. At that time, I was running from a label to another with only 3 demos in my pocket, however, one of these demos ended up in my actual manager's hands, Alexander Von Perl. He liked it and decided to introduce me at Icon Records France, a french label. Few days after, I received a call from them to ask me if I was still looking for a contract. |

| Quando ti sei reso conto che la musica poteva essere un mezzo di sostentamento per te? WHEN DID YOU REALIZE THAT MUSIC COULD BE A SUPPORT TO YOUR LIFE?
Non amo parlare del mio passato ma direi che mi sono reso conto che la musica mi faceva felice quando avevo più o meno 8 anni. Poi, da li a diventare cantante, non lo avrei mai immaginato. Diciamo che in fondo lo sempre saputo ma mi ci è voluto tempo per realizzarlo, anche perché non ci sono musicisti nella mia famiglia, quindi mi è stato anche difficile renderlo "ufficiale" quando non ho più avuto la scelta di nasconderlo.

I don't really like to talk about my past, but as far as I can remember, I was more or less 8 yo when I realized that music was providing me an incredible support making me happy. Then, there was a long way to go before I realized I wanted to be a singer, even if somehow I've always known it. It's also not easy to go after your dreams when no one in your family is into music. But I have no regrets at all. |

Di solito penso prima alla musica e poi al testo, pero il contrario si anche avverato possibile!
Poi vado in studio e li lavoro con i produttori sulla linea produttiva dei brani.

Mi è già successo, e c'è anche qualcosa di strano in questo processo, come se a volte non decidessi te stesso di scrivere certe canzoni! Pero quando ti capita lo devi fare assolutamente!

| Come capisci che un tema è finito o se ha bisogno di qualche cambio? WHEN DO YOU UNDERSTAND THAT A NEW-CREATED SONG IS FINISHED OR THAT MAY NEED ANOTHER CHANGE?
Credo che questo sia il problema di tanti artisti. Infatti mi è sempre difficile di chiudere con una canzone, anche perché ogni brano è un pezzo della mia vita, quindi e come se tu dovessi chiudere anche con tutto cio che rappresenta il pezzo.
Purtroppo quando registri un album, ancora di più con un etichetta discografica, hai dei limiti imposti, quindi prima o poi devi fermarti.

I think it's the problem of many artists. It's always been hard to me to tell myself "okay, this song is done", chiefly because each song is a piece of me, of my life, maybe an specific event, then it's just hard to tell yourself "okay, the song is done, I have to turn the page about that piece of life".
Unfortunately, when you're under a label, you cannot do everything you would like to do. You have limits, and sooner or later you have to take the project to the finish line. |

Tanti...e di vari orizzonti.
Per il modo in cui ha costruito la sua carriera, direi Madonna.
Ma non è stata l'unica ad ispirarmi. Daniel Balavoine (artista francese), Michael Jackson, Donna Lewis, Gainsbourg, Queen.

| Cosa si dovrebbe fare per fermare la pirateria? WHAT SHOULD BE DONE TO STOP ILLEGAL DOWNLOADING?
Credo che oggi il problema abbia evoluto un po, nel senso che ora è molto più facile e diffuso poter comprare musica online per pochi centesimi. Il vero problema sono le abitudine che purtroppo sono installate.
Le etichette discografiche devono anche capire che certi prezzi devono essere abbassati.
E una lotta che potremo risolvere soltanto se tutti voliamo risolverla. Pero dobbiamo stare attenti a non trovare soluzioni estremi, per entrambi i campi. Un equilibrio ci deve essere. E come nella vita, se vuoi che qualcosa duri, devi trovare un equilibrio.

I think that the problem has evolved a bit nowadays. I mean, it's much easier to buy music online for few cents. The real problem is the habit of downloading everything for free when behind a lot of work was done.
The labels also need to lower some of their prices.
It's a battle that will only be solved if we all get together. We must care about finding an appropriate solution, that will respect both of the parts, and avoid extremes choices (Some networks propose free downloading if you accept to watch advertising). It's like in the real life, if you want something to last, you need to make it sustainable by finding equilibrium. |

Ascolto un po di tutto. E importante essere aperto ad ogni genere di musica, anche perché è l'unico modo di andare avanti senza stancare chi ti ascolta.

I listen a bit of everything. It is important to stay open to all kinds of music, also because I think it's the most sustainable way to move on, to create something new without tiring people that listen to your music. |

| Cosa consiglieresti a chi vuole addentrarsi in questo mondo? ANY GOOD ADVICE TO WHOM MAY BE CONCERN BY A MUSICAL CAREER?
Di mai dimenticare le sue proprie origine. Ogni giorno incontri delle persone che anche non volendo provano a cambiare la tua identità artistica, devi comporre con questo, fare un sacco di compromessi e proteggerti dalle scelte troppo facili. Anche se vivo e faccio carriera in Francia, la mia famiglia è di origine Abruzzese, di un paesino nella provincia di Chieti, Lama Dei Peligni. Nonostante la bellissima avventura che sto vivendo, non c'è un singolo giorno in cui non penso a quel posto, ai miei amici li. Amo la Francia, le sono molto grato per avermi offerto le possibilità che mi hanno portato fin qui, ma il mio cuore è definitivamente abruzzese ;)

Everyday you meet people that even unconsciously try to change your artistic identity. You have to deal up with it, to make a LOT of compromises and to protect yourself from the easy choices.
Though I live in France, my family comes from Abruzzi, from a small village in the province of Chieti, called Lama Dei Peligni. Despite the fact I enjoy this wonderful adventure, there is not a single day in which I don't think about that place, of my friends living there.
I love France, I feel so grateful in its towards for giving me the chance to take me till there, but my heart definitely belongs to Abruzzi ;) |
