What is your profession? What is your title printed on your business card?
I am a Vedic Astrology consultant.
What did you study and why did you choose to study that field?
I studied Vedic astrology and got myself a Master's degree.
What is expected of you in your job, and how do you accomplish it?
Answer to every imaginable question is expected from me. To give the correct answers I spend time scrutinizing the horoscope.

Yes, to a great extent I am.

My expertise is primarily in the field of Vedic Astrology and this is what I study about.
In which tasks are you good at, and in which could you better yourself?
I am very good at what I do. My feedback proves it.
Do you usually attended seminars or coursework to advance your professional work or would you consider yourself a more self-taught person?
I have attended a few seminars.
When did you realise that your work was being considered important and that it could possibly take you places?
When I was offered a job to teach Vedic Astrology at 'The Astrological Institute' in Scottsdale, Arizona.

I taught astrology in the US for eight years.
Who have been the most influential people in your career?
My teachers and my senior professionals.
With which types of persons do you feel you work well with as a team?
I work alone.
Which goals have you focused on in your professional career?
To get at least 10000 visits every day on my Blog and website.
Which publications associated with your field do you regularly read?
All leading publications.
Which languages do you speak, and how have you learned them?
I speak fluent, Hindi and English. I also read and understand Sanskrit.

It was fun getting them up and running. Both are quite popular and a definite help to my practice.
How do you feel about speaking in front of an audience? What experience have you had in this arena?
This is what I have done for a living in US for past eight years. I have taught classes, seminars and family gatherings. I am actually very good at teaching and putting my point of view across.
Do you attend cocktail parties, presentations, fairs or conventions related to your profession?
Yes I keep abreast of what is going on in my field.
Have you explored the social networks for professionals online? Are you member of any of them?
I am not aware of any such network.
How are you different from others in your professional sector?
I am not moribund and hidebound. I am modern and scientific in my approach to Vedic Astrology. I use it to find answers to questions that fast paced modern life throws at people constantly.
How is the Interent changing the way you work?
Internet is my sole means of getting new clients and getting paid. It is my lifeline.
Do you do telecommuting?
Yes for foreign clients I do.
Do you feel your hobbies serve to elevate your career?
Astrology is my hobby and my profession. I am a good cook and also an avid reader of all kinds of fiction.
Do your hobbies aide in professional networking?
Yes they do.
Would you relenquish some of your income in exchange for more free time?
No my professional and personal life are nicely balanced.
What are the things you least like about your job?
People asking for free consultation.
Besides your current profession, what other things would you have liked to have been?
A fighter pilot in Indian air-force.
What is the most important thing you have learned from experience?
People are really nice deep down. When they act otherwise, there is usually a thorn in their side.
When you were young, what did you want to be when you grew up?
A fighter pilot in Indian air-force.
Save some excpetions, do you believe professional and personal relationships should not be mixed?
Yes absolutely. I can't become friends with my clients. Professional and private life needs to be kept separated.

How do you handle customer complaints?
Personally and with great empathy.
Someone wants to ask for a pay rise and they ask you for advice in how to approach the matter with their boss. What do you tell them?
I tell them to make a dossier of their accomplishments in the past year and prove how they have been instrumental in increasing the profits for the company. If they can prove that, there is not a manager who would deny a raise request.
What do you do to manage stress?
Yoga and meditation
What are the most common mistakes clients make when they judge your work?
They don't make mistakes. I do.
