ART
What do you do? How do you define yourself as an artist?
I call myself an artist only after several years of coming to terms with being able to call myself one. I have been a painter. I have worked as a fashion designer, a decorative painter and a jewelry designer. I have always had a compulsion to create.

My current passion is for metalsmithing. I primarily work with fine silver precious metal clay. I make jewelry and judaica objects.
Your biography in four lines.
I graduated from Boston University with a BFA in painting in 1984. I graduated from the Fashion Institue of Technology with a degree in Fashion Design a year later. I worked as a knitwear and sportswear designer in New York for about 12 years. I moved back to St. Louis married with children and then divorced and have embraced my artistic roots again.
Do you upload your work to the web? If so, where could we see it?
How is an idea born? For you, what is inspiration?
I am inspired by what is important to me. I started making Judica objucts a year ago because my faith is a very important part of my life. I think that creating with love makes that object more special. It shows in your work.
How do you evaluate whether an idea is good or not?
I never think anything I make is good enough. I constantly try to change and improve. It' not always a good thing for me. I try to make it a positive experience,
How should a work of art be evaluated?
I have stopped trying to figure this one out. Art is very personal and subjective. Some people think it is decorative, some like it to be very intellectual. I just think you should like what you like, for your own personal reasons, I'm sure they are not mine.
Does it pain you to let go of a piece you have sold?
No, it makes me happy to know someone has apprciated what I have created.
