SPORTS
What is your sport, and what level of commitment do you have to it? I am a showjumper. I jump affiliated most weekends and ride my horses everyday to keep them fit!
Can you provide a link to a site where we can get to know more about you or your sports activity? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JEpJzoiRShs&list=UUDmHjWwqN-bWO2YUnLPIPhg&index=4&feature=plcp
How did you get started? Who introduced you to the sport? For my 8th birthday I went to a local riding school with my friends and had a great time. So from then on I had lessons twice a week for almost a year and then i got my own pony for my 9th birthday...and carried on from there!!
Who was the sports idol that impressed you the most as a child? And who impresses you now? Pippa Funnel and Frankie Detorri impressed me most when i was younger but now Sian Price is probably one of the best riders i know.
Do you have a coach/trainer who guides and helps you? What is your relationship with that person like? I have lessons off Sian Price. I really like the way she teaches and rides. I trust her a lot!
Who have been your best teammates? Why? I have lots of friends who showjump. Its hard to choose.
How does your emotional state effect your physical performance? It obviously effects it alot but i usually pull it off and get placed. As long as im hydrated im fine.
How has your sport helped your personal growth? It has given me a lot more confidence. I dont get nervous jumping infront of big crouds or speaking to people anymore.
How do you control negative thoughts after a mistake, such as hitting a ball into your own team's goal or getting off to a bad start? I keep calm, talk to my mother about what went wrong. Go home and work on it.
What plans do you have for yourself? What do you want to achieve? I would love to have a sponsor so that i can have the funds to travel to shows in Ireland, France, Spain etc. One day i'd love to jump for TEAMGB!
What advice do you have for those just starting out? Smile. Be happy. Work hard. Always be polite to others even if you dont get on with them. Keep calm when things go wrong. Hard work ALWAYS pays off in the end!
