Interview with:Eduardo Gustavo Santos González [starmaster]
MUSIC
What do you do? What is your musical specialty? Improvisation over neo-classical inspired progressions, along with counterpointed multi-layerd melodies based on classical music. The rythms used in my music are simple on execution, but follow a complex structure; structured music (like in early romanticism, refering to a "narrative structure") is what I really enjoy composing.
| Do you work alone or in a group? If in a group, who are the others you work with? Usually, I work alone; because I enjoy having the creative side all for myself.
I often record all the instruments; but when I play with others, I avoid playing non-original songs. |
Is there a web address where one can listen, see, or read some of your work? By now, you can listen to some of my music at my Youtube channel: http://www.youtube.com/user/StArMasteRz
What is your creative process? First... the emotion, idea or image I want to express.. then, the melodies, which are concieved individually, over a generally simple rhytmic patterns, set together to build a structure. After that... if I want to, I add poetry to the lyrics (I'm not that good as a poet).
When do you have your most lucid moments, in the morning or night? Artistically... at night.
Have you ever awoken with a melody created from your dreams? Of course... And that music is often absolutely brilliant.
How do you know when a song is finished or needs no more changes? When I start feeling the song's spirit; when it aquieres an own soul; when I feel absolutely satisfied with it.
List three songs that are key to your life. Symphony No. 1, by Hayden, At the Heart of Winter by Immortal, and Clair de Lune, written by Debyssy.
What time did you get up this morning? At 4:30 in the morning.
