For how long have you done photography? How did you begin?
8 years, I started with photo manipulation for a couple of years. I then noticed that I would take my own photo's, so I bought my first digital camera (HP Photosmart) From then on it started to grow on me more and more.
What has been your education as a photographer?
All self education :)

Dutch Design Week 2010 and 2011 (and coming 2012)

For a Dutch photo contest I won 2nd place
What is your favourite type of photography?
Portraiture and fine-art
What do you try to express through your photography?
That one moment, with the 'perfect' light situation.
How do you choose your subjects?
If it's for personal projects, I search around the web or on the streets. When it is for a commercial job, art-director and I choose the best 'subjects'
What type of preparation do you do before undertaking the photo session?
Get a good breakfast, and a full battery!
Do you normally photograph with a purpose already in mind, or do you let yourself go with the flow?
I have it in mind, and then I go with the flow. My mind never tells me one thing to do, so it will come out different everytime on each project.
Canon, Nikon, Fuji, Sigma, Olympus, Sony, Pentax...which do you place your bets on and why?
Where's the iPhone? ;)
Describe your current equipment: cameras, lenses, computers, accessories...
1 camera 3 lenses and a studio.
What software and plug-ins do you use to retouch and manage your photos?
Just the plain software Photoshop & Lightroom.
What measures do you take to protect your work against Internet piracy?
None, if you want to be safe don't place it online.
Are you a good salesperson of your work? In what should you improve?
Not yet, i've never been but i'm working hard on that :)
Which past masters of photography do you most admire?
I don't remember names, just the images.. so I don't know :)
Are technology and digital retouching reducing the gap between professionals and amateurs?
In the end, the client pays you for your work.. if they don't... then you're not a professional.
What is your team of habitual collaborators like?
model, make-up artist. I prefer a small team to work with
With which other photographers do you normally team up with or do sessions with?

Do you consider yourself more technical or more artistic?
I know the technical stuff, but I never use a lightmeter. I guess, i'm in the middle
What have you learned about the art of framing and composition?
That it makes or breaks a image
How does one develop the instinct of knowing when to press the shutter release button?
If you go into sports, you don't need to develop.. just hit it!
When should one use film, and when should one use digital?
All depending on the project, but I think if you use film just because it looks 'hip' you're not real.
Does photography have the recognition that it should have in contemporary art museums?
No yet, but it will be someday!
