 | What is your blog address? What subjects do you deal with? My blog address is - bookobsesstress.blogspot.com. I review books that I have read and spotlight posh book related items. |
| What was it that made you create your blog? On what date did you start it? I created my blog because I LOVE to read and write. This is the best form of expression that I could find to combine my two passions. I began my blog on July 31, 2008. |
| What blogging system have you adopted and why? I use Blogger because of the ease of use. |
| How many visits a day do you get? What type of comments do you receive? I average approximately 20 visits per day. If I promote, I receive more visits. It is rare that I receive a comment from a visitor. |
| How has 'having a blog' contributed to your life? I love having a blog. It makes me feel like I am contributing to the "book world". I enjoy being able to express my opinion on a site that I named and designed. My blog is an outward expression of who I am and it makes me proud! |
| Have you created relationships with other bloggers or readers of your blog? Yes, I have created relationships with other bloggers and readers of my blog. I was able to review a few books for a few publishing companies, which resulted in a networking relationship. I also try to visit the blogs of people who visit mine. It is nice to receive a comment or a visit to your blog. |
| How often do you post? Does regular posting of your blog require a lot of effort on your part? I was previously posting once a week. I am now trying to post on a daily basis. It requires great effort to come up with new ideas and find products that interest me. I work full-time and I am also pursuing a Masters Degree. It is difficult to find the time to read and blog at this time. |
| Does blogging bring in income for you? Can one make a living from posting? No, blogging does not bring in income for me, but I imagine that it could if I had more time to dedicate to the promotion of my blog. |
| How do you promote your blog? I promote my blog via Twitter, Facebook, and through fellow bloggers. |
| How would you define your readers? Have you got a faithful audience? My readers are people looking to receive true reviews about a book they have read or might be interested in reading. My blog is light and not too serious and mostly for a fun, light-hearted person. No, I do not have a faithful audience. I do have family and friends that stop by my blog on occasion. |
| Have you ever received gifts for blogging about your opinion of products or services? What do you think of bloggers who do that? No, I have not received gifts in exchanage of my opinion of a prodcut. I have, however, received books from publishing companies that I have read and posted about on my blog. I don't have an opinion of bloggers that receive gifts as long as they are being honest in their reviews of the products. I think it is great to be rewarded for expressing yourself. It is a pat on the back! |
| How do you see your blog evolving in the future? i see my blog as the go to place for the girly reader who wants an honest opinion. I would love to receive more visitors and opinions from my readers. I would like to begin selling book related items online and participate in more book related events. My main goal for my blog is to showcase up and coming authors and publishing houses. |
| What advice would you give to someone who wishes to begin a blog? Be sure to have a clearly defined goal and the time to dedicate to your blog. Be honest, true, and light-hearted. |
