Thi-lee Bhardwaj [thi]

MUSIC
What do you do? What is your musical specialty?
Keyboard ( learning ) and singing.
Do you work alone or in a group? If in a group, who are the others you work with?
Alone
Is there a web address where one can listen, see, or read some of your work?
No, I am not a professional.
Please list any awards, competitions, or other acknowledgments you would like to mention.
I do not compete or perform like that.
Please list discography in which you have participated.
None realy, just a few plays and performances at school.
How did you begin making music? Who introduced you?
I have always had a fascination in music from an early age, and I have always wanted to play the piano so I decided that I was going to after being self taught on a keyboard. I don't realy make or produce my own music (yet) I play other people's music, and I tend to be drawn more to pop music, especialy Mika's music. So if I was to write a piece of music or a song myself I would definatly want to produce something along the lines of the way Mika produces he's music.
Quite dark and meaningful lyrics to an upbeat melody.
What was your musical education?
Self taught.
When did you realise that making music could be a way of life for you?
As I have always been fascinated with music I suppose I have always considerd music as a way of life, as music is my life, always have been always will be. And as I have grown up I have even more of a passion for music and it keeps getting strongerall the time.
What is your creative process?
My creative process would be in me playing the piano and singing, both of which needs work. But I think that with more practice and training this could be developed into something so much better.
When do you have your most lucid moments, in the morning or night?
It depends in what mood I am in. But I am always thinking all day just thinking about something, and I often day dream which can lead to insperation or ideas. I also get inspired by both visual things and sounds.
Have you ever awoken with a melody created from your dreams?
Yes, some times but I find it hard to create the melody on the keyboard or bring it to life.
How do you know when a song is finished or needs no more changes?
When you are producing a song, each part you do you keep coming up with more ideas and keep changing it untill it sounds just right, and you know there is nothing more you can do to it and that there is nothing more you can do to it as it sounds just right. That's when you know it needs no more changes. And when you put it all together and it sounds exactly like you imagined it.
How did you discover your creative territory? How would you describe it?
I don't realy know how I discovered it, its just some thing I have always enjoyed so I decide to get more involved with it. And I don't realy know how I would describe it.
What part of your job is your least favourite?
Well it's not realy a job but I would say the thing I least enjoy is not being confident within myself. But I enjoy mostly all of it.
How often do you practice?
I pactice singing every day and practice playing on the keyboard if not every day every other day.
How do you feel right before going out on stage?
I always feel very nervouse and have stage fright when performing infront of others.
Which musicians or groups have been inspiring to your career?
The person I am most inspired by is Mika as I find every aspets of he's work inspiring and he thinks quite simular to me.
List three songs that are key to your life.
couldn't realy pick out 3 percific songs but I would associate my life with Mika's songs as they are mainly based on he's teenaged years and that is the point in my life in which I am at now. So he's music is very much associated with my life.
What should be done to stop piracy?
I think if prices were lowered then there would be less market for piracy.
What type of music do you detest?
I am not a big fan on rock music or music where it is not music just screaming and loud noise.
What time did you get up this morning?
8:00 am
How do you sell yourself? What has been your experience with record companies and representatives?
None, I have had no experience with ither.
What other things have you done to make a living?
Well I am still in school at the moment ( High school )
Have you ever played on the street or in the subway? How much did you collect each day?
No, I have not performed in any public place.
Who would you play with, without a doubt?
I would love to play with Mika, as he is an amazing performer, player (piano) and of course singer.
What advice would you give to someone starting out in the business?
Be confident, practice and work hard and be happy in what you do. And always be yourself no matter what.
